At Home in the Hamptons
Two classic Easthampton abodes receive a major overhaul from Fritz Architecture Studio, updated with sleek, modern finishes and open floor plans. Drawing on the characteristic rooflines of their shingle-style architecture, both feature a dramatic kitchen/dining/living space with a-frame ceilings and exposed beams. Where the two-story is beachy and light, the one-story is bold and graphic, but both claim loads of natural light, minimal, modern furnishings, and clever architectural details. In the smaller of the two, a glass-enclosed corridor connects the main living space with the former garage, now a master suite complete with open-air bathtub.
